Fire Steels

Fire can be a matter of survival. Unfortunately, common fire-starting tools cannot be 100% relied upon — matches can get wet and a standard gas lighter can fail due to damage to a small mechanical part. Even otherwise highly reliable petrol lighters may let you down if an imperfect seal allows the fuel to evaporate. It is no wonder, then, that effective fire starters have become a focus of interest — tools that will not fail in any weather conditions. With a fire starter you can easily start a fire even in the wettest weather.

Simple operating principle, long service life

The operating principle of a magnesium or other fire starter is very simple. Striking the rod against the fire starter produces several hot sparks at a temperature of 3,000–3,500 °C, which ignite prepared grass, leaves, sawdust, small branches, cotton wool, etc. There is no need to worry about the lifespan of fire starters — even with intensive use, a fire starter will last you for years. Fire starters are no longer the exclusive domain of special military units or the survival community. From our range, climbers, hikers, hunters and anglers can all find what they need.
