Emergency food and military rations — also known as MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) — are complete food packs designed for use in situations where cooking is not possible. They require no refrigeration and have a long shelf life (typically 3–5 years). Each pack contains a main course, side dish, snack, drink powder, cutlery and condiments. Available from brands including Bridgford, MFH and other quality manufacturers. Suitable for survival kits, camping, military training and emergency preparedness.
