Ropes
In this category you will find certified ropes designed for alpinism, multi-pitch climbing, rock and wall climbing and other climbing activities. Our product range consists of dynamic ropes (half and single), static ropes and auxiliary cords. This category contains products from the well-known French brand Petzl, one of the most popular brands in mountaineering, alpinism and work-at-height.
Static Ropes
The fundamental difference between dynamic and static ropes is their structure and application. Static ropes are designed primarily for work at height, rescue operations, canyoning and speleology/caving. They have high static strength and very little elasticity. Their purpose is not to catch falls; on the contrary, they are used solely to support weight.
Dynamic Ropes
Dynamic ropes, on the other hand, are suitable for climbers. They are constructed to be able to absorb fall energy. For sport climbing — climbing on artificial walls or rocks, glacier and ridge tours, and rock climbing where there is no risk of the rope being cut — single ropes are primarily used.
If you need a rope for alpine climbing, glacier ascents or mixed climbing, half ropes are the right choice. The advantage of half ropes is lower friction in belaying and a low risk of both ropes being cut simultaneously, since they are used exclusively in pairs (double-rope technique).
