Shiro (in English "white") holds great significance in Japanese culture in many respects. Among other things, this colour represents purity and sanctity, but also sorrow and death. Samurai wore white beneath their armour, which symbolised their willingness to fight unto death. Blade in Shinogi Zukuri style with fuller (Bo-Hi), hand-forged from carbon steel 1045. The blade is sharply honed with an incorporated Hamon-line for a very authentic appearance. Handle wrapping of white cotton in the classic Hineri Maki style. White, highly polished lacquered wooden scabbard. With a long tang, which is secured in the handle by two bamboo pegs (Mekugi). The sword is fully disassemblable. No plastic; only quality and authentic materials are used. Blade collar (Habaki) and washers (Seppa) are made from brass. The traditional handle wrapping is lined with genuine ray skin. All fittings (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are hand-forged from metal. The package includes a protective fabric case, a John Lee seal and a certificate.
