Transitional Jackets
We offer transitional jackets from well-known manufacturers MFH, Helikon-Tex, Mil-Tec, the German brand Brandit and Surplus, as well as pieces from other international manufacturers — in various colours, from classic single colours such as black through to camouflage patterns including woodland, darkcamo, night camo and others. The selection is large enough for everyone to find their favourite.
How to choose a transitional jacket?
The right transitional jacket depends primarily on its intended use. Our range includes transitional jackets with a modern design intended for everyday city wear, work or leisure, as well as transitional jackets for hiking, outdoor activities and camping. When hiking, you naturally would not choose a cotton transitional jacket that offers insufficient protection against wind and rain — instead you need robust, water- and wind-resistant materials.
For a transitional jacket to serve its purpose well, it is ideal when the manufacturer has thought of everything — for example a sufficient number of pockets, including inner pockets, and a zip ventilation opening under the arm for comfort during increased physical exertion on hikes or in the outdoors. Adjustable cuffs that prevent wind penetration are excellent, as are elastic cuffs around the lower edge of a shorter transitional jacket to prevent heat loss. A high collar to protect the neck from bad weather and a quality drawstring hood for rain protection are also very welcome.
Quality Materials
Besides a modern design and practical construction, the materials from which transitional jackets are made should be an important selection criterion. Jackets made from softshell are very popular with outdoor and hiking enthusiasts. Softshell provides comfort and protection outdoors as well as for everyday wear. It is water-repellent to a degree, wind-resistant and warm. It is flexible, breathable, abrasion-resistant and easy to maintain. Some transitional jackets feature a water-repellent DuPont™ Teflon layer, making them ideal for camping, outdoor use, forests and dense vegetation. Ripstop materials are also popular, offering high tear resistance so the jacket does not continue to tear once a rip has started.
