Semi-active ear defenders are earplug defenders with special channels that conduct sound to the ear and which are equipped on the outer side with comfortable closures. After inserting the plugs into the ears, the user can close or open this channel. In addition, there is a filter in the earplug that suppresses generated noise. Open mode allows you to hear surrounding sounds (including for example instructions, commands) and allows conversation to continue. With impulse noise - the built-in acoustic filter partially reduces the flowing sound wave and reduces noise intensity.

Open mode should be used when impulse noise occurs (for example when shooting at an open range, shooting range or battlefield) and when communication with others is needed.

Closed mode provides a higher level of hearing protection and is intended for use with impulse noise when it is not necessary to hear the surroundings, and with continuous noise (for example in a helicopter, combat vehicle etc.).

Earplugs do not require any power - the acoustic filter operates on a mechanical principle.

Noise reduction level:

- in closed mode SNR = 28 dB,

- in open mode SNR = 16 dB.
