A classic straight razor shaves precisely, but it can’t do without a whetstone and a strop. The Garrigue shavette takes a different approach: instead of a fixed blade, you insert half of a disposable razor blade, and once it goes dull, you simply replace it with a new one. Only 0.5 mm of the edge protrudes from the arm, so even beginners can shave beard contours and the neck with more control.

PRECISION WITHOUT SHARPENING

You won’t need a whetstone or a strop – the edge is provided by an ordinary double-edge razor blade, or more precisely, half of one. Thanks to the narrow blade, you can see where the edge is going and finish the lines on your cheeks or neck exactly as you imagine. A shavette doesn’t take kindly to haste, though – you shave with it calmly, as part of a ritual, not in a rush before leaving the house.

CLEAN DESIGN, LIGHT HAND

You won’t find anything superfluous on Garrigue – just a light body and a clean shape. The handle is made of pakkawood, which doesn’t mind water, a matte Teflon layer protects the steel arm from corrosion, and a flip-up lock ensures the blade is held firmly. The low weight will please both the bearded man grooming at home and the barber who works with it for long hours.

Usage:

Break the razor blade in half while it is still in its paper wrapper – you can use both halves. After releasing the lock at the front end, the arms of the holder can be opened, and you insert one half into the slot between them. Once you have closed the arms again and secured the lock, check that the blade is held firmly before shaving. Shave slowly and without pressure, ideally with a clear shaving gel, and clean and sterilise the shavette after each use.
