Our modern version of the original curved-pick ice axe from Chouinard, the Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe, is a classic mountaineering ice axe that has been used for decades on classic ascents around the world. Now the Raven is refined, lighter and features an updated head made from investment-cast stainless steel, ergonomically improved for greater comfort when walking. Updated pick and adze geometry allows safer placement and effective cutting, and the refined tip provides better purchase on ice terrain with improved penetration capability. Also improved is the durable shaft made from aircraft-grade aluminium with a trapezoidal cross-section for more comfortable and better grip.
