You are literally "dancing" on thin ice, beneath which lies a dizzying depth. You have nowhere to move and nothing to grip, just thin ice at your feet. Your salvation hangs on your harness in the form of an extra-short 9 cm CAMP Rocket XS screw. You pull the screw from the crack, quickly screw it in, and using it and the loop you climb to safer terrain where you can secure yourself. The nervousness eases slightly and after a few metres you reach a good anchor and then without major problems to the end of the route. CAMP Rocket XS 9 cm is the shortest version of an ice screw for thin ice, derived from CAMP Rocket. Thanks to its chrome-plated steel construction, exceptionally low weight, high strength and durability have been achieved. The patented front teeth were designed for the quickest and easiest penetration even into the most frozen ice. The thread pitch is ideally set for simple screwing and the thread height for secure anchoring. To increase comfort and effectiveness, the screw is fitted with a flip-out steel handle that can be comfortably operated even in thick gloves. The folding handles are colour-coded for easy size identification.
