Standard hardness of CPM 3V ranges between 58 to 60 HRC. CPM 3V often replaces highly alloyed tool steels in operations where chronic problems with tool cracking or breakage occur. Its chemical composition reduces corrosion resistance, so knives made from this steel should have subsequent surface treatment or the owner must pay increased attention to regular knife maintenance. Tai Pan is a very sharp blade with double-edged sharpness.
