The G-10 Espada Large knife is a knife for everyday carry. The Espada product range was designed by renowned knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel president Lynn C. Thompson. The Espada knife is inspired by legendary Espada conquest swords. The blade is made from Japanese AUS 10A steel. This martensitic, stainless steel has very good strength properties and is sold primarily as a material for cutting tools. Compared with AUS 8A steel, it holds an edge better and is more resistant to wear. The steel was then heat-treated to achieve the perfect balance between edge retention and easy resharpening. The DLC (Diamond Like Coating) surface treatment with a black finish prevents easy scratching and ensures the knife's resistance to corrosion. The handle of the Espada™ knives is made from G-10 material – glass fibre. The handle is strongly curved, has a coarse texture and is equipped with finger grooves for a secure and safe grip when using the knife. The entire Espada knife range is equipped with the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents accidental or unintentional closure of the knife even after natural wear over time.
