The G-10 Espada XL is the largest folding knife in the world. The Espada product range was designed by renowned knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel president Lynn C. Thompson. The Espada knife is inspired by legendary conquest swords called Espada. The blade is made from Japanese AUS 10A steel. This martensitic stainless steel has very good strength properties and is marketed primarily as a material for cutting tools. Compared with AUS 8A steel, it holds an edge better and is more resistant to wear. The steel was then heat-treated to achieve the perfect balance between edge retention and easy resharpening. The black DLC (Diamond Like Coating) surface finish prevents easy scratching and makes the knife resistant to corrosion. The handle of the Espada™ knife is made from polished aluminium and is complemented by a blade of G-10 glass fibre. The handle is strongly curved, has a rough texture and is fitted with finger grooves for a secure and safe grip when using the knife. The entire Espada knife range is equipped with Cold Steel's unique patented Tri-Ad Lock™. The lock prevents the knife from closing accidentally or unintentionally, even after natural wear over time.
