The Voyager® range of folding knives is one of the oldest, most sought-after and best-selling ranges in Cold Steel's history. The knives are supplied in several blade shapes and each shape is available in both smooth and serrated blade variants. The blade, with a thickness of 3.5 mm or 4 mm, is made from Japanese AUS 10A steel. This martensitic, stainless steel has very good strength properties and is used primarily as a material for cutting tools. Compared with AUS 8A steel, it holds an edge better and is more resistant to wear. The steel was then heat-treated to achieve the perfect balance between edge retention and easy re-sharpening. The blade is finished with a surface treatment called Stone Wash Finish. This is a blade surface treatment, essentially a wash with medium-sized stone chips. This surface treatment gives the product an aged appearance and the treated material acquires a matt finish. It prevents unwanted reflections from polished blades and is used in the manufacture of tactical knives. The steel used is able to hold the blade very well, which is hand-sharpened at manufacture to a high sharpness. Voyager® also offers all the latest improvements and safety features. One-handed knife opening, aluminium handle scales or use of the Tri-Ad Lock locking system. The lock prevents accidental or unintentional closure of the knife, even after natural wear over time. The handle is made from Griv-Ex™ material. This is a handle material with unique properties and is significantly stronger than Zy-Ex. The material is not affected by moisture, temperature changes or deformation. A deep texture provides excellent non-slip properties for the handle.
