Cold Steel Leatherneck-SF knife has a blade made from D2 steel. This is a tool steel suitable for cold forging with a higher content of alloying elements, particularly chromium and carbon. The steel has high wear resistance. It is relatively corrosion-resistant, but it is not stainless steel. Therefore, the blade is treated with a non-reflective black powder coating for corrosion protection. The knife's strength is ensured by a full tang construction and the solid handle is finished with a thick steel butt cap, which means the back of the handle can be used as a hammer in an emergency. The handle is made from Griva-Ex™ material. This is a handle material with unique properties and is significantly stronger than Zy-Ex. The material is not affected by moisture, temperature changes or warping. The deep texture provides slip-resistant properties to the handle. For safe and comfortable carrying of Leatherneck knives, each blade is equipped with a robust and versatile military Secure-Ex® sheath.
