The Marauder knife from Cold Steel is an extremely robust knife with a 5 mm thick blade. The blade is manufactured so that its centre of gravity is concentrated in the first third of the knife. The blade widens slightly towards the tip, and therefore there is no problem cutting small tree growth or performing batoning. The knife is designed for bushcraft enthusiasts and is named after the famous unit of the American Army (Merrill's Marauders) from World War II. The blade is made from Japanese AUS 8A steel. This stainless steel has very good strength properties and is used primarily as a material for cutting tools. The steel was subsequently heat-treated for perfect balance between edge retention and easy sharpening. The blade is finished with a surface treatment called Stone Wash Finish. This is a blade surface treatment, essentially washing with medium-sized pieces of stone. This surface treatment gives the product a patina and the treated material acquires a matt surface. It prevents unwanted reflections from a polished blade and is used in the manufacture of tactical knives. The handle of the Marauder knife from Kraton material (Long Kray-Ex™) maximises its potential. The handle is perfectly shaped and offers a non-slip surface. It fits perfectly in the hand and absorbs impacts from strong strikes. The knife comes with a Secure-Ex sheath, which protects both you and the knife.
