Natchez Bowie is a large hunting knife with a Bowie blade and smooth edge. Natchez Bowie knives are legendary among Cold Steel product enthusiasts. Its long blade is perfectly shaped and transfers force efficiently to the material being cut during use. The Natchez knife is perfectly balanced, making it exceptionally manoeuvrable and quick to handle. Thanks to the 8 mm thick blade material and full tang construction, the knife is absolutely robust. With the knife you can easily portion meat or skin animals, but also chop wood or drive nails. Our blades made from American CPM 3-V steel are highly durable. CPM 3-V is a tool steel, resistant to fracture and general wear. CPM 3-V is a tool steel manufactured by powder metallurgy process with uniform microstructure. Its chemical composition gives it particularly extreme toughness, resistance to brittleness and very good wear resistance. CPM 3V offers greater toughness than, for example, D2. Standard hardness of CPM 3V ranges from 58 to 60 HRC. CPM 3V often replaces highly alloyed tool steels in operations where chronic problems with tool cracking or breaking occur. Its chemical composition reduces corrosion resistance, so knives made from this steel should have subsequent surface treatment, or the owner must take increased care with regular knife maintenance. The handle is made from polished black Micarta. This is a type of laminate interwoven with glass fabric and thermosetting resin. The material is highly durable and robust. The Secure-Ex sheath, which protects both you and the knife, is of course included.
