Recon 1 is one of the most popular tactical folding knives from Cold Steel. Proof of its popularity is the long-term production and demand for this range of knives. The blades in this series are newly manufactured from CPM S35VN steel. CPM-S35VN is a martensitic stainless steel designed to provide increased toughness. Its chemical composition has been balanced so that CPM-S35VN achieves hardness between 58 and 61 HRC. In addition, the blade is also protected by a DLC coating surface treatment. The G-10 handle has a fine texture on its surface that roughens it for better and safer grip. The knife is equipped with a two-sided opening pin and this range of knives is also equipped with the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents accidental or unintentional closure of the knife, even after natural wear over time. The package also includes a carry clip for the left side.
