The SR1 Tanto knife from COLD STEEL is a folding knife with a plain blade. The SR1 is a heavy-duty working knife designed for use in the most demanding conditions. The SR1 is a truly robust folding knife that can handle even the toughest tasks. Its highly durable Tanto blade is made from 4.8 mm thick American CPM-S35VN steel with a powder surface treatment. A good blade needs a good handle, which is why the SR1 knife handle is made from first-rate American G-10 material with inserts of heat-treated steel. The blade is made from CPM-S5VN steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very strong and durable, but it can achieve excellent sharpness and the blade then has a long service life. A very fine-grained powder steel with uniform microstructure offers very stable properties. It is durable even with a very fine blade bevel, reliable and highly resistant to corrosion. It is a good choice for high-quality custom knives and tools. The CPM process (pseudo-powder metallurgy) guarantees a very homogeneous, high-quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good sharpening properties and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite lower chromium content, this steel exhibits very good corrosion resistance results. The G-10 handle has a fine texture on its surface that roughens it for better and safer grip. The texture and pronounced shaping ensure that the knife will not slip from your hand in any situation, even when your hands are wet, sweaty or dirty, allowing you to exert sufficient force to make a cut. This knife is equipped with a lock featuring the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents accidental or unintentional closure of the knife even after natural wear over time.
