The Tanto machete is primarily a cutting tool. Over the years we have developed various machete shapes, but the Tanto remains one of the best models for cutting. Although the "American Tanto machete" is known primarily for its combat use, it is also suitable for use in the outdoors. Its full tang construction and polypropylene weather-resistant grip add to its durability and functionality. The blade is made from 1055 carbon steel with an anti-corrosion black surface finish. 1055 steel is a tool carbon steel. Thanks to its carbon content and low alloy content, this shallow-hardened steel is a very strong material that is not prone to brittleness.
