Trail Master is a large hunting knife with a Clip Point blade and smooth edge. Cold Steel has manufactured the Trail Master knife for many years, and in that time it has found favour particularly amongst hunters and survival enthusiasts. They appreciate the durability and strength of the knife thanks to the 8 mm thick blade material and Full tang construction. With the knife you can easily carve meat or skin animals, but you can also use it to chop wood or drive nails. Our blades made from American CPM 3-V steel are highly resistant. CPM 3-V is a tool steel, resistant to fracture and general wear. CPM 3-V is a tool steel manufactured by powder metallurgy process with uniform microstructure. Its chemical composition gives it particularly extreme toughness, resistance to brittleness and very good wear resistance. CPM 3V offers greater toughness than, for example, D2. Standard hardness of CPM 3V ranges between 58 to 60 HRC. CPM 3V often replaces highly alloyed tool steels in operations where chronic problems with tool cracking or breaking occur. Its chemical composition reduces corrosion resistance, so knives made from this steel should be additionally treated or the owner must pay increased attention to regular knife maintenance. The knife handle is made from Kraton material (Long Kray-Ex™). The handle is perfectly shaped and offers a non-slip surface even in wet and muddy weather. It sits excellently in the hand and dampens impacts during strong strikes. The package naturally also includes a Secure-Ex sheath, which protects both you and the knife.
