What is the MOLLE system?
The MOLLE system is a webbing attachment system consisting of horizontally positioned straps 1 inch (2.54 cm) wide with vertical spacing of 1 inch. The straps are sewn to a base fabric (for example, on a gilet or rucksack) at 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) intervals. This system was patented by the US armed forces in 1998. Today, the MOLLE system is the most widely used webbing attachment system in the world.
