Powerful rechargeable cycle light Fenix BC22R delivers a light output of up to 1400 lumens (ANSI) with a beam distance of up to 156 metres. It is powered by a replaceable Li-ion rechargeable battery of type 18650 with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which is included in the package and charges via a USB-C connector directly in the light. The light source is a modern Luminus SST-40 diode. The light uses specially shaped optics that direct light only forwards and to the sides, not upwards. The light beam is therefore partially cut off at the top and does not dazzle other road users and pedestrians. At the same time, the optics used create a very wide light beam that smoothly illuminates the entire space in front of the bicycle, so it also lights areas that standard cycle lights do not cover. The Fenix BC22R bicycle light is therefore suitable not only for use on roads and cycle paths, but also handles trail lighting perfectly. The mount design allows quick attachment and detachment of the light to the handlebars without tools, and the light can additionally be quickly removed from the mount and used as a high-performance hand torch. The mount is compatible with handlebars with a diameter of 22 to 32 millimetres.

A unique design allows the light to be mounted inverted (both above and below the handlebars), with the top-cut light beam remaining and you can still see the controls and indication on the light. The package also includes an adapter for GoPro mounting. The Fenix BC22R offers five digitally controlled power modes with a runtime of up to 41 hours including a flashing mode. Fenix cycle lights will ensure quality lighting for night training, regular commuting to work and endurance races.

All light parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance and beam distance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the bicycle light

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the light on the rechargeable battery. Before first use, remove it from the rechargeable battery.

To turn on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. The light will always turn on in the last set mode (except flashing), and you can switch between further power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. To switch to flashing mode, hold the button for 1.2 seconds when the light is on.

Battery capacity indication - with the light off, press the button once briefly, then the indicator LED in the button will light up for three seconds. Green light or flashing indicates a charged battery at more than 50%, red light or flashing indicates 50% or less. The indicator LED also lights when the light is on, so the user is continuously informed of the rechargeable battery status during riding.

Low rechargeable battery warning - if the rechargeable battery capacity drops below a safe level, the light will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible runtime (it will not then be possible to switch the light to higher modes). If the rechargeable battery is critically discharged, the button will start flashing red. In this case, we recommend charging the light as soon as possible to prevent the protective electronics built into the rechargeable battery from shutting down and thus the light from going out.

Intelligent overheat protection - With prolonged use of the light at high power levels, a large amount of heat can accumulate. When the light reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it automatically reduces the power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the power gradually increases again.

Charging

• Flip open the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the bottom of the light and connect it to a computer, power bank, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter using the supplied USB cable.
• During charging, the button lights red, and after full charging it lights green.
• Charging time is approximately 3 hours depending on the power of the adapter used. The Li-ion rechargeable battery does not suffer from memory effect, so the light can be recharged at any time.
• During charging, the light can be used in an emergency, but only in two modes of 50 and 200 lumens. The charging time will be extended.
• After charging and removing the power cable, do not forget to seal the USB-C connector cover.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts in the light head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the light will be properly protected against water.
• If the light is flashing, not switching to higher modes, or not lighting up, it could be one of the following reasons:
  • The rechargeable battery is almost discharged, charge it or replace it.
  • The contacts inside the light are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The battery cover is loose, tighten it.
