Fenix CP50R lantern with an impressive light output of 5500 lumens and a beam distance of 450 metres is an exceptional light source not only for motorhome camping. Thanks to a unique dual reflector system, you can precisely illuminate distant areas and at the same time comfortably light up a wide surrounding area – simultaneously, or each separately. Moreover, this light source has additional lights built in for warning and safety functions: red triangular light, yellow flashing light and green steady light. The design with dual rotary switches enables smooth adjustment of brightness and light colour temperature, providing perfect illumination for every situation. Its 360-degree rotating magnetic handle allows easy carrying, hanging or attachment to ferrous surfaces. Thanks to two rechargeable 21700 batteries, which offer up to 10 days of operation on a single charge, IP66 protection and high impact resistance, the CP50R is a perfect combination of functionality and durability for every adventure.

All lantern parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Fenix CP50R rechargeable lantern specifications

Use of Fenix CP50R

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the lantern on the batteries; remove it before first use.

Switching on/off and changing power - To switch on the white light, rotate the large rotary control clockwise. By rotating it, you then smoothly adjust the power of the white light from the lowest to the highest. To reduce power, rotate the control anticlockwise. To switch off, rotate the control anticlockwise to the extreme position. If the lantern is off, press the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to switch on the warning modes. The warning modes can then be switched by pressing the electronic switch. The lantern will then switch off again by holding the electronic switch.

Switching white light modes - When the lantern is switched on to white light, pressing the electronic switch cycles through the lighting modes wide reflector → distant reflector → combined mode wide and distant reflector.

Changing the light shade of the wide reflector - When the lantern is switched on in wide mode or combined mode, you can smoothly change the shade of the white light of the wide reflector by rotating the smaller rotary control from warm to cool shade.

Memory of the last set mode - When switched on to white light, the lantern remembers the last used white light mode (wide, distant, combined). When switched on to warning modes, the lantern remembers the last set warning output. The lantern remembers the last set light colour temperature for the wide reflector, provided the small control was not moved when it was switched off.

Battery replacement - Pull up the ring on the bottom of the lantern and unscrew it anticlockwise to open the battery cover. Insert the batteries with the negative pole (-) facing inwards, then screw the battery cover back on.

Charging - Flip open the dust cover and connect the charging USB-C cable to the lantern port. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. During charging, the indicators flash from left to right to show the charging progress. After charging is complete, all four indicators light up continuously. During charging, the lantern can be used, but the maximum power is limited to 500 lumens. The typical charging time is approximately 3 hours when using a USB power source supporting 18 W output.

Power bank function - Flip open the dust cover and connect the charging USB-C or USB-A cable to the appropriate lantern port and connect the other end of the cable to the device you want to charge. After discharging is complete, replace the dust cover. During discharging, the indicator lights flash from right to left to show the discharge status. When the battery voltage drops below 3 V, the power bank function automatically switches off. During discharging, the lantern can be used. The USB-C connector supports protocols: PD3.0/PD2.0/QC3.0/QC2.0, the USB-A connector supports: QC3.0/QC2.0. Maximum output during discharging is up to 18 W (5 V / 3 A, 9 V / 2 A, 12 V / 1.5 A). The USB-A and USB-C ports can be used for discharging simultaneously. The USB-A port cannot discharge if the lantern is being charged simultaneously via the USB-C port.

Battery charge status indication - After switching on the lantern, or after briefly pressing the switch when the lantern is off, the indicator lights will illuminate for three seconds. If four lights are on, the batteries are charged to more than 80%. Three lights indicate 60-80% capacity, two lights 40-60%, one light 20-40%, one flashing light 1-20%.

Intelligent overheat protection - If the lantern temperature exceeds 54 °C, the power will automatically reduce. As soon as the temperature drops below 54 °C, the power gradually increases again.

Flat battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the lantern will reduce the brightness to a lower level. After reaching the lowest power, one battery charge status indicator will start flashing to remind you to recharge or replace the batteries.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• We recommend using quality Li-ion batteries with Fenix 21700 protective electronics (ARB-L21 series).
• Never mix different types and capacities of batteries in the lantern. Remove the batteries from the lantern if you will not be using it for a long time. If the light flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it could be one of the following reasons:
  • The batteries are almost flat – charge them.
  • The electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
