Fenix E18R V2.0 is a rechargeable miniature pocket LED torch with short-term extreme output of up to 1200 lumens (ANSI). This model uses the premium Luminus SST-40 LED as its light source. Thanks to its length of just 67 millimetres and weight of 56 grammes (including battery), it can be carried with you at all times – in a pocket, on keys or in a bag. It is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion RCR123A battery, which can be charged in the torch via a USB-C connector from any USB source (for example, a computer, power bank, or USB source in a car). In an emergency, a disposable CR123A battery can also be used.

High-quality construction, durability and waterproofing are of course standard. The torch is equipped with a removable clip and the tail cap is magnetic. A unique innovation is a special collimator that creates a light cone with a surprising beam distance of 146 metres. The collimator is manufactured using technology employed in the automotive industry and its height is just 3 millimetres, which is less than half that of commonly used optics. The torch is designed by its characteristics to serve as an ideal small reliable companion that is always at hand. If this torch is given as a gift, it will always bring joy.

All torch parameters (light output, runtime on batteries, waterproofing, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

To switch on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. You can switch power modes at any time during operation by pressing the side button. To switch to strobe mode, hold the side button for approximately 1.2 seconds.

The control button can be locked to prevent accidental activation, for example when transporting in luggage – press the control button twice quickly (within 0.5 seconds). To unlock, press the button twice quickly again.

Intelligent overheat protection – because such a small torch achieves such extreme output of 1200 lumens, it does heat up. If the temperature exceeds 60°C, the output will automatically reduce. As soon as the temperature drops below 60°C, the highest output can be used again.

Charging – flip open the rubber cover of the charging connector on the side of the torch and connect the supplied cable (USB-C connector), connect the other end of the cable to a computer, mains USB adapter or car adapter. During charging, the indicator LED flashes dimly in red. When fully charged, it lights up green. Charging a fully depleted battery takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Battery charge status indication – when the torch is off, a short press of the side button activates the indicator LED in the torch's side button for three seconds. If the indicator LED lights green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50–85% capacity. If it lights red, it is charged to 25–50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Low battery warning (only works when using Li-ion RCR123A) – the torch will gradually automatically switch to the lowest mode and the indicator LED in the button will start flashing red.

Warning

• Do not disassemble the sealed part in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Use only quality 3 V CR123A batteries and Li-ion RCR123A batteries to prevent damage to the torch, for example due to battery leakage.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it could be one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is depleted – charge it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The torch body is loose – tighten it.
