The latest generation LED torch Fenix E20 V2.0 offers high light output of up to 350 lumens (ANSI) and beam distance of up to 126 metres. This version offers simple operation and four levels of light output with runtime of up to 200 hours. Operation and switching on are controlled by an end button. It is powered by two commonly available AA batteries, and of course disposable or rechargeable batteries can be used. A unique innovation is a special collimator that creates a light cone with a beam distance of 126 metres. The collimator is manufactured using technology employed in the automotive industry and its height is only 3 millimetres, which is less than half that of commonly used optics. Thanks to its length of only 127 millimetres and weight of 42 grammes (without batteries), it can be carried with you at all times. This torch is an ideal lighting tool with an excellent ratio of high output, quality and price.
All torch specifications (light output, runtime on batteries, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard. The Fenix E20 V2.0 torch replaces the older models Fenix L2T V2.0, Fenix E20 and Fenix E21.
- Modern Luminus SST-20 LED is used with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
- Four power modes: measured with rechargeable NiMH battery with capacity of 1900mAh: 350 lumens: (1.5 hours) → 150 lumens (5.5 hours) → 30 lumens (34.5 hours) → 5 lumens (140 hours) measured with supplied alkaline batteries: 350 lumens (3.75 hours) → 150 lumens (11.25 hours) → 30 lumens (93.5 hours) → 5 lumens (200 hours)
- Uses two AA batteries (alkaline, lithium or rechargeable NiMH). These batteries are inexpensive and widely available. The longest runtime is provided by lithium AA batteries Energizer L91 Ultimate Lithium (particularly suitable for extreme conditions and expeditions).
- Protection against accidental reverse insertion of batteries (reverse polarity). Intelligent overheat protection. Electronics with digital constant power regulation and protection against reverse battery insertion.
- Made from aircraft-grade hardened aluminium type T6, the torch is impact-resistant to drops from a height of 1 metre.
- Durable surface – Type III hard anodised.
- Pronounced surface knurling for better grip.
- Solid clip for secure and simple torch carry (removable).
- Special ultra-thin collimator only 3 mm high, manufactured using technology employed in the automotive industry.
- Beam distance 126 metres (3950 cd).
- Waterproof and dustproof to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 metres).
- Dimensions 12.7 cm (length) x 1.68 cm (body diameter) x 2.1 cm (head diameter).
- Weight 42 grammes (without batteries).
- The torch comes with a wrist cord, spare O-ring and two alkaline batteries.
- The following optional original accessories are available for purchase: AOD-S diffuser, AOF-S red filter, AOT-S transport cone, belt case, Fenix bike mount, strap for use as a head torch or ALP-MT case. The torch is also compatible with the LockBlocks bike mount and BikeBlock cycle helmet mount.
Use of Fenix E20 V2.0 LED torch
To switch on, press the switch located at the end of the torch. The torch will always switch on in the lowest mode. With the torch switched on, you can change power modes at any time by gently pressing the button (they cycle through low – medium – high – turbo). Intelligent overheat protection – if the torch temperature rises above 58°C, it will automatically reduce output in gradual steps of 1% every second until the output is reduced to 150 lumens. As soon as the torch temperature drops below 58°C, the output will automatically increase back to the original level. Operation at the highest power mode is therefore not time-limited, but only temperature-limited.
Low battery warning – if the battery voltage drops below the set level, the torch will automatically reduce output. With depleted batteries, only the lowest power mode will be available.
Warning
Do not disassemble the sealed part in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty. Remove batteries from the torch if they are depleted. Particularly with disposable batteries, there is a risk of leakage and subsequent damage to the torch. If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
If the torch is flashing, not switching to higher power modes, or not switching on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost depleted – replace them.
Contacts inside the torch are fouled – clean them with cotton wool soaked in alcohol.
The rear of the torch is loose – apply lubricant to the sealing O-rings and tighten.
