Rechargeable pocket torch Fenix E28R V2.0 offers light output of up to 1700 lumens (ANSI) and beam distance of up to 273 metres. It ranks among the most powerful Fenix torches powered by a single Li-ion 18650 rechargeable battery, which charges via USB-C port directly on the torch body without needing to remove it. In an emergency, however, the torch can also be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries. Compared to the first generation, it now features a practical magnetic tail cap for attachment to any ferrous object. The E28R V2.0 torch has seven different lighting modes, which allow you to choose between high output and long runtime (almost 11 days of continuous operation), and it also includes strobe flashes for emergency situations and warning light (Breathing light) in the button, where battery charge status indication is also located. This torch is an ideal lighting tool with an excellent ratio of high output, quality and price. Use

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

To turn on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. The torch will always turn on in the last selected mode except for the highest mode and strobe. You can switch power modes at any time during operation by pressing the side button. The strobe can be activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds.

The control button can be locked to prevent accidental activation, for example when carrying in luggage – press the control button twice quickly (within 0.5 seconds). To unlock, press the button twice quickly again. Unwanted activation can also be prevented by loosening the torch body.

Warning light of 1 lumen around the switch button can be activated by triple quick pressing of the button when the torch is off. Subsequent button presses switch between four functions – red light → green light → red pulsing → green pulsing.

Overheat protection: If the temperature exceeds 60 °C, the output will automatically reduce. As soon as the temperature drops below 60 °C, the highest power modes can be used again. Charging: Flip off the dust cover and connect the USB-C charging cable to the torch charging port. After charging is complete, reseal the dust cover. Normal charging time is 3 hours with a 5 V/2 A USB source for a fully discharged torch. During charging, the torch can be used in 5 and 50 lumen modes. During charging, the indicator LED in the button glows red. When fully charged, it turns green.

Battery charge status indication: After turning on, or after a short button press when the torch is off, the LED indicator in the button activates for 3 seconds. If the indicator glows green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50–85% capacity. If it glows red, it is charged to 25–50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% battery capacity remains. Note: This function is only active when using 18650 type rechargeable batteries.

Low battery warning: If the voltage drops below the set level, the torch will reduce brightness to a lower level until it reaches 5 lumens output. After reaching the lowest output, the LED indicator in the button will flash red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. This function is only active when using 18650 type rechargeable batteries.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the torch.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • Battery is almost discharged – replace it or recharge the battery.
  • Contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
  • Tail cap is loose – apply lubricant to the sealing rings and tighten.
