The Fenix GL23R laser pistol rechargeable torch is designed specifically for use on short-barrelled weapons. The white light output is 1200 ANSI lumens with a beam distance of up to 240 metres. The torch also features a green laser, which is suitable for easier target acquisition (the laser beam direction can be finely adjusted). The torch is powered by a single Fenix ARB-L18-1100 Li-ion rechargeable battery, which charges directly in the torch via a USB-C connector on its side and is included in the packaging. The simplified torch control is ambidextrous (for right-handed and left-handed users). The GL23R comes with three versions of switch paddles (universal – factory-installed, shortened, extended), which can also be combined (a different switch can be used on each side of the torch according to personal preference). The torch can operate in three modes – white light only, white light plus green laser, or green laser only. Mounting on a weapon rail is simple – the torch slides onto the weapon rail and is secured with a rotating wheel (can be tightened firmly with a coin, for example). It can be attached to Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 and GLOCK standard weapon rails (may not fit slimline category weapons, for example the Glock 30 model). The torch is suitable for professionals as well as sport and hobby shooters.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance and beam distance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Operating the Fenix GL23R torch

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the rechargeable battery. Before first use, remove it from the rechargeable battery.

By rotating the bottom switch, you select the desired lighting mode (permanently off, white light, green laser, combination of white light plus green laser).

For momentary activation, move the rear switch to the upper position and hold. When released, the switch returns to the centre position and the torch switches off.

For constant illumination, move the rear switch to the lower position. Move it back to the centre position to switch the torch off.

Charging the torch – flip open the rubber cover of the charging connector and connect it to a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter using the supplied USB-C cable (not included in the packaging). You can also use any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector for charging. During charging, the indicator LED on the side of the torch glows red; when fully charged, it glows green. Charging a fully discharged rechargeable battery takes approximately 2 hours. The Li-ion rechargeable battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so you can charge the torch at any time.

Battery replacement – unscrew the torch head and insert the battery with the positive pole facing outwards. Then screw the head back on fully.

Adjusting the laser beam direction – adjustment of left-right deviation is on the left side of the light. Use the supplied Allen key in the clockwise or anticlockwise direction to move the laser dot. Adjustment of vertical deviation is located on the bottom of the light; again use the supplied Allen key to move the laser dot. When making large direction corrections, interaction may occur that causes diagonal movement of the laser or locks it. It may be necessary to turn the opposite adjustment screw anticlockwise to allow the laser cartridge to move to the desired position.

Intelligent overheat protection – if the torch temperature exceeds 60 °C, the output will automatically reduce. Once the temperature drops below 55 °C, the output gradually increases again.

Warning

• Use only quality rechargeable batteries to prevent damage to the torch, for example due to battery leakage.
• When using the torch on a weapon, observe safety rules.
• Insert batteries with the positive pole facing towards the torch head.
• If the torch flashes, glows with low output or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The rechargeable battery is discharged – replace it or charge it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with cotton wool soaked in alcohol.
