Fenix HM60R V2.0 is a high-performance rechargeable head torch that offers a light output of up to 1600 lumens with a beam distance of 170 metres in the main reflector. The second reflector with a power of up to 350 lumens has a very wide and smooth light beam with a neutral colour tone and high colour rendering index CRI >90 (Color Rendering Index). Switching between reflectors is done with an innovative sliding selector on the top of the head torch with the option to lock it. The head torch also features red light with a power of up to 20 lumens. The package includes a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh, which charges directly in the head torch via a USB-C connector. Given its features, it is suitable for professional use, various sports activities (hiking, camping, running, cycling, skiing...), underground work, for anglers and other uses. It will serve you well in every situation. An all-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is fully waterproof to the IP68 standard to a depth of 2 metres underwater.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Before first use, remove it from the battery.

Switching on/off and mode switching - If the head torch is unlocked and off, white light is switched on by holding the switch for 0.5 seconds, red light is switched on by double-tapping the switch. Power modes of the switched-on light are then changed by briefly pressing the switch. The light is switched off again by holding the switch for 0.5 seconds or by locking it with the sliding switch.

Switching between distance and wide reflector and locking - By sliding the top mode switch, you can cycle through Lock ⇋ Distance reflector ⇋ Wide reflector. When the head torch is locked, sliding the mode switch to the distance or wide reflector position will also switch it on.

Memory for the last set power mode - The head torch has memory and will switch on in the last set power mode of the respective reflector, except for the highest mode of the distance reflector (always switches on to high mode) and red light modes.

Battery replacement - Unscrew the battery cap of the head torch and insert the battery in accordance with the marked polarity. Then tighten the cap fully again.

Charging - Unscrew the dust cover, connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port of the head torch and its other end to a USB connector of a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter. After charging is complete, tighten the dust cover back on. During charging, the indicator lights red. When fully charged, it lights green. Normal charging time is 2.5 hours with a 5 V/2 A USB source for a completely discharged head torch. During charging, the head torch can be used, but charging time will be extended and available power modes depend on the current battery charge level. Fenix 18650 type batteries can be charged.

Battery charge status indication - Each time you switch on, or after pressing the button when the head torch is off, the indicator LED activates for three seconds. If the indicator light is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it lights red, it is charged to 20-50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 20% battery capacity remains. Only works with rechargeable Fenix 18650 type batteries.

Intelligent overheat protection - When using the head torch for extended periods at high power modes, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the head torch reaches a temperature of 55 °C or higher, it automatically reduces power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55 °C, the power gradually increases again.

Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the head torch reduces brightness to a lower level. After reaching the lowest power, the battery charge status indicator begins to flash red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. Only works with rechargeable Fenix 18650 type batteries.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the head torch.
• Remove batteries from the torch if you will not be using it for a long time or if the batteries are already discharged. Otherwise, some lower quality batteries may damage the head torch.
• If the head torch is flashing, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it could be one of the following reasons:
  • Batteries are almost discharged – charge them or replace them.
  • Head torch cap is loose – tighten it.
  • Electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
