Fenix HM62-T is a high-performance running head torch that offers a light output of up to 1200 lumens of neutral white light with a beam distance of 150 metres. The advantage of this light colour is more natural and contrasting colour reproduction in the terrain. The head torch also features red light with an output of 5 lumens. The package includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery of type 18650 with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which charges via a USB-C connector on its body. The head torch is suitable especially for night running, ski running or ski mountaineering, hiking, fishing or speleology. An all-metal construction made of lightweight magnesium alloy ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is fully waterproof to the IP68 standard to a depth of 2 metres underwater, all whilst maintaining low weight.

Like other Fenix trail head torches, the HM62-T is fitted with a strap featuring the Sport Fit System with a single wheel for easy adjustment of strap length. You can quickly and comfortably tighten the head torch on your head with one hand. The strap is perforated for rapid sweat drainage and fitted with reflective elements that ensure good passive visibility, and additionally features an integrated whistle for emergency situations.

All light parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

From the factory there may be an insulating cover inside the light on the battery. Before first use, remove it from the battery.

• The off head torch turns on to low white light mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
• The off head torch turns on to red light by double-tapping the button quickly.
• The on head torch turns off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.

When the head torch is on, you can cycle through power modes with short button presses in the order 5 - 130 - 400 - 1200 lumens (when white light is on). When red light is on, you can cycle through power modes with short button presses in the order 5 lumens constant light - 5 lumens flashing.

Battery charge status indication - After a short button press (head torch must be off), the LED battery charge status indicator in the button activates. Green light indicates the battery is charged to 85-100%, flashing green indicates 50-85%, red light indicates 25-50%, flashing red light means less than 25% battery capacity.

Locking the head torch against accidental activation - Loosen the battery cap of the head torch by a quarter turn, this breaks the electrical contact and the head torch cannot be turned on. The button can also be locked electronically – with the head torch off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the light will flash red. To unlock, hold the button down for 3 seconds again.

Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the head torch automatically switches to lower power modes. If the head torch is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the head torch will continue to light until the battery is completely discharged. Note: the low battery warning is calibrated only for the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Charging

Remove the battery from the head torch. Connect the USB cable to the side USB-C connector; during charging, the indicator light on the top of the battery glows red. When fully charged, it glows blue. When using a USB source with a current of 1500 mA or higher, the charging time is approximately 2.5-3 hours. The Li-ion battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so it can be recharged at any time. After charging, fully tighten the battery cap of the head torch.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
• If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the head torch.
• Remove the battery from the light if you will not be using it for a long time or if the batteries are already discharged. Otherwise, some lower quality batteries may damage the head torch.
• If the head torch is flashing, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it could be one of the following reasons:
  • Battery is almost discharged – charge it or replace it.
  • Head torch cap is loose – tighten it.
  • Electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
