Fenix HM70R is an extremely powerful rechargeable head torch that offers a light output of up to 1600 lumens. The package also includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery of type 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which charges directly in the head torch via a USB-C connector. The head torch is fitted with multiple light sources; in the long-range reflector there is a LED Luminus SST-40, which has a beam distance of 186 metres. In the second, wide reflector, there is a LED Cree XP-G2 HE with a warmer shade (neutral white) with a power output of 400 lumens, which has a very wide and smooth light beam. The head torch also has red light with a power output of 5 lumens. With red light it is capable of shining on the lowest mode for almost 17 days and can flash continuously for more than 33 days.

The construction from lightweight aluminium alloy ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is fully waterproof to the IP68 standard to a depth of 2 metres underwater. Use:

From the factory there may be a white insulation cover inside the light on the battery. Before first use, remove it from the battery.

• The switched-off head torch turns on to the last used long-range reflector mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
• The switched-off head torch turns on to the last used wide reflector mode by pressing the button twice quickly.
• The switched-on head torch turns off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
• When the head torch is on, you can switch between the long-range and wide reflector by holding the button for 1.2 seconds. It is not possible to run both reflectors at the same time.

When the head torch is on, you can cycle through the power modes by short button presses in the order 30 - 150 - 500 - 1600 lumens (when the long-range reflector is on) or red 5 lumens - white 30 lumens - white 400 lumens - red flashing (when the wide reflector is on). The light has memory and will always turn on in the last set mode (applies to both reflectors).

Battery charge status indication: After a short button press (the head torch must be off) the LED battery charge status indicator in the button activates. Green light indicates the battery is charged to 85-100%, flashing green light means 50-85%, red light 25-50%, flashing red light indicates less than 25%.

Locking the head torch against accidental activation: Loosen the battery lock of the head torch by a quarter turn, this breaks the electrical contact and the head torch cannot be turned on. The button can also be locked electronically - with the head torch off, hold the button pressed for 3 seconds. After locking the light will flash red. To unlock, hold the button for 3 seconds again.

Overheat protection: If the head torch temperature exceeds 65 °C, it will automatically reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilises. As soon as the temperature drops below 65 °C, the highest power mode can be used again.

Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the head torch automatically switches to lower power modes. If the head torch is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the head torch will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged.

Note: the low battery warning is calibrated only for the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Charging:

Unscrew the waterproof cap on the side that covers the USB-C connector. Plug the USB-C charging cable into the head torch and its other end into the USB connector of a computer, mains USB adapter or USB car adapter. You can also use any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector for charging. During charging the side button lights red and after full charging it lights green. The charging time for a fully discharged battery is approximately 4 hours. The Li-ion battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the head torch can be charged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof cap again.

Warning:

Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty. If the head torch is flashing, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it could be one of the following reasons:

• The battery is almost discharged - charge it or replace it.
• The head torch lock is loose - tighten it.
• Electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.

Warranty: Five years warranty on the head torch, two years on the battery.
