Pocket tactical torch Fenix LD30R offers light output of up to 1700 lumens (ANSI) and beam distance of 267 metres. It ranks among the most powerful Fenix torches powered by a single Li-ion 18650 rechargeable battery, which charges via a USB-C port directly on the torch body (the battery no longer needs to be removed from the torch as in the previous version). In an emergency, however, the torch can also be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries. The LD30R torch features seven different lighting modes, which allow you to choose between high power and long runtime (up to 31 days of continuous operation), and also includes strobe flashes and SOS mode for emergency situations. The torch is equipped with battery charge status indication on the side button. Thanks to activation via an end tactical switch, it is suitable not only for a wide range of outdoor, sports and work activities, but also for professionals.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

From the factory there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

To switch on or off, press the end button; to switch on momentarily, hold the button down. You can switch power levels at any time during operation by pressing the side button. To switch to strobe modes, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. This activates the strobe. A further short press allows you to switch between strobe flash and SOS. Holding the button will return the torch to the original steady light mode.

Battery charge status indication (only functional when using Li-ion 18650) – each time the torch is switched on, the indicator LED on the side button activates. If the indicator LED glows green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50–85% capacity. If it glows red, it is charged to 25–50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Charging – flip open the rubber cover of the charging connector on the side of the torch and connect the supplied cable (USB-C connector); connect the other end of the cable to a computer, USB adapter to the mains or to a car. During charging, the indicator on the button glows red. When fully charged, it glows green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 3 hours. During charging, the torch can be used in 1 and 50 lumen modes.

Low battery warning (only functional when using Li-ion 18650) – the torch will gradually automatically switch to the lowest mode and the indicator LED on the button will begin to flash red.

Overheat protection – due to the torch's dimensions and high power in 1700 lumen turbo mode, turbo mode operation is time-limited. Also, if the internal torch temperature rises above a critical level, it will automatically reduce power in gradual steps until its temperature stabilises.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Use only quality 3V CR123A batteries and 18650 Li-ion rechargeable batteries.
• If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher modes, or does not switch on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is almost discharged – charge it or replace it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The torch head is loose, tighten it.
