Fenix LD35R is a versatile torch equipped with three types of light: white, red and blue light for a wide range of occasions. The main white light is provided by a top-tier Luminus SST-40 second-generation LED with a maximum output of 1800 lumens and an impressive beam distance of up to 337 metres, so darkness will never be an obstacle. For flexible illumination of a work area or surroundings, the torch is fitted with two powerful COB light strips on the sides, which allow either one-sided illumination or full 360° illumination. The flat rear conceals a strong magnet for attachment to metal surfaces, which you will appreciate during repairs, camping or workshop use. For emergency situations, the torch is equipped with a striking bezel made of stainless steel, fitted with ceramic tips for rapid glass breaking and effective self-defence. Comfortable and quick one-handed operation is ensured by a combination of a lever and electronic switch, and power is supplied by the included 18650 rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which charges directly in the torch via a waterproof USB-C port. All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofing, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use of the Fenix LD35R torch

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

Switching on/off and changing power modes - To switch the light on or off, hold the button for approximately 0.5 seconds. You can change power modes at any time during operation by briefly pressing the button.

Switching between main light, side coloured light and side white light is done using the rotary selector.

Memory for the last set mode - The torch has memory for three basic modes in main white light: 20, 100 and 350 lumens. Side lights will always switch on in the lowest mode.

Lock/unlock - To prevent accidental switching on of the torch, for example in luggage, press the button twice quickly (the torch must be off); the torch will then flash in eco mode, signalling that it is locked. To unlock, press the button twice quickly again and the torch will switch on to the lowest mode of the mode the rotary selector is currently in. Accidental switching on can also be prevented by loosening the torch head.

Battery replacement - Unscrew the torch head and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the head. Then fully tighten the torch head again.

Charging - Flip open the dust cover and connect the USB-C charging cable to the torch's charging port. Once charging is complete, reseal the dust cover. The typical charging time for the included ARB-L18-3400 battery is 3 hours with a 5 V/2 A USB source. During charging, the indicator lights red. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the indicator lights green. During charging, the torch can be used in any mode except strobe; depending on the battery charge level, not all modes may be available and the total charging time may be extended.

Battery charge status indicator - When the torch is off, activate the battery charge status indicator by briefly pressing the button for three seconds. Green indicates sufficient charge (100% - 85%), green flashing 85% - 50%, steady red 50% - 25% and flashing red critically low battery (25% - 1%). If the battery is discharged, the torch will gradually automatically switch to lower power modes; in the lowest mode, the battery charge indicator will then flash red to alert you that the battery needs to be recharged or replaced. Only works with original batteries.

Intelligent overheat protection - When using the torch at high power modes for extended periods, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the torch reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it automatically reduces power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the power gradually increases again.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Use only the high-current rechargeable Li-ion batteries of type 18650 listed above.
• If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch does not switch to higher power modes, flashes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is almost discharged - charge it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The rear of the torch is loose – tighten it.
