Specification
High-performance pocket torch Fenix PD36R ACE will dazzle you with a light output of up to 3000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 415 metres. This excellent light output is delivered by a premium LED Luminus SFT-70. Power comes from a Li-ion rechargeable battery 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh (included in the packaging), which charges conveniently directly in the torch via a modern USB-C connector. Beneath the durable threaded collar that protects the charging USB-C port lies a unique programmable SET button. With it you can quickly customise the torch: choose one of three preset profiles – tactical, duty or outdoor – and set the number of modes perfectly to your needs. The Fenix PD36R ACE offers up to seven different lighting modes, so you always have an optimal combination of power and runtime. This can exceed 63 hours in eco mode. For emergency situations, the SOS and strobe modes are invaluable. Thanks to digital regulation, the torch provides constant light output even as the rechargeable battery gradually discharges, and you can easily check the battery status using the charge indicator. PD36R ACE impresses not only with its compact dimensions and outstanding power, but also with its tactical tail switch and the option to connect the Fenix AER-04 remote switch. It is therefore an ideal choice not only for all outdoor enthusiasts, but also serves well for military personnel, security forces and hunters.
All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use
From the factory there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the rechargeable battery. Before first use, remove it from the rechargeable battery.
To turn on, press the tactical switch at the end of the torch, for momentary activation press it lightly. By pressing the side button at the head of the torch you can cycle through the constant lighting modes at any time during operation. To switch to strobe, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. Pressing it again will activate SOS. Holding the side button again will return you to constant lighting modes. The number of modes you can cycle through depends on your chosen mode preset, for example strobe can be completely deactivated (see below).
Setting lighting mode presets – The SET function offers a choice of three lighting mode presets, which are listed in the following table.
-
Loosen the collar under the torch head to reveal the hidden SET button.
-
With the light on, pressing the SET button cycles through: Setting 1 – tactical mode (Turbo mode only) → Setting 2 – duty mode (3 modes) → Setting 3 – outdoor activities (5 modes). When the torch is first switched on, Setting 3 is selected from the factory.
-
After selecting the desired preset, the corresponding indicator next to the SET button will light green for 3 seconds as confirmation of your choice. This indication also shows the current number of available modes for that Setting.
| Mode presets | Eco | Low | Medium | High | Turbo | Strobe | SOS |

Note:
- Users can independently activate or deactivate the strobe option. In the default setting it is activated in all presets.
- The number of modes for each lighting preset is shown without Strobe and SOS.
Activating and deactivating Strobe mode – With the light on, hold the hidden SET button for 1.2 seconds to activate/deactivate Strobe mode in all mode presets. The torch will flash twice to confirm your choice.
Memory for the last set power mode – The torch remembers the last power mode used within the active preset. When switched on again, it will activate in this mode (does not apply to Strobe and SOS).
Battery replacement – Unscrew the tail cap of the torch and insert the rechargeable battery with the positive pole facing the reflector. Then screw the tail cap back on fully.
Charging
- Unscrew the protective collar under the torch head to reveal the charging port and connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port. Once charging is complete, screw the collar back on.
- During charging, the indicator in the side button glows red; when fully charged it will glow green. During charging you can turn the torch on and off by holding the side switch. The tail switch is not functional during charging.
- The typical charging time for a fully discharged ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours when using a sufficiently powerful power source.
Battery charge status indication – Each time the torch is switched on, the indicator LED in the side button activates for three seconds. If the indicator LED glows green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50–85% capacity. If it glows red, it is charged to 25–50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% battery capacity remains.
Intelligent overheat protection – If the torch temperature exceeds 60 °C, the output will automatically reduce. As soon as the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will gradually increase again.
Low battery warning – If the voltage drops below the set level, the torch will reduce brightness to a lower level. Once the lowest output is reached, the battery charge status indicator will flash red to remind you to recharge or replace the rechargeable battery.
Warning
- Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Keep the torch out of reach of children.
- Do not shine the torch directly into your own or anyone else's eyes.
- Loosen the tail cap by half a turn or remove the rechargeable battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Use only the original protected 21700 Li-ion rechargeable battery to avoid damaging the torch.
- If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
- If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost discharged – charge the rechargeable battery or replace it.
- Contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
- The head, body or rear of the torch are loose – apply lubricant to the sealing O-rings and tighten the head and end of the torch firmly.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the torch, two-year warranty on the rechargeable battery.
