Fenix ARB-L16-800UP is a rechargeable Li-ion battery in RCR123A (16340) size with a capacity of 800 mAh and its own USB-C charging connector. It can be charged by connecting a cable to the USB-C connector (for example from a computer or mobile phone charger), but also in a conventional charger and in charging torches and head torches. It is designed for high discharge current. It is therefore particularly suitable for devices with higher current consumption, for example Fenix E16 and E18R torches. Li-ion technology provides one of the best ratios of stored energy to battery weight. Batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal.
Battery protection can be divided into two areas. In the first, electronic circuits are added that prevent overcharging of the cell (a situation where conventional li-ion batteries have a risk of explosion) or conversely excessive discharge (the accumulator would then not be able to recharge). Additionally, these circuits protect the battery against short circuit or high current draw that could damage the accumulator. If the battery electronics detect that limit values have been reached, they disconnect the cell. The second area is then protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve. Unlike other valves used in li-ion batteries, this one, when the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain threshold, separates the electrodes inside the battery and thereby effectively interrupts the exothermic reaction and releases excess gas pressure outside the accumulator. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (thermal and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest available li-ion accumulators.
In size, the accumulator corresponds to the RCR123 single-use lithium CR123A battery, which is why it is often used in torches as a rechargeable alternative to these single-use cells. Check in advance whether your device supports this cell, as it has a higher nominal voltage compared to the single-use battery. These accumulators can further be used for example in Fenix torches E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, PD25R, GL06, GL22, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, RC09, PD22 Ultimate Edition.
WARNING - do not use in Fenix models E15 (does not apply to E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (does not apply to Ultimate Edition) and HL50, risk of electronics damage!
Due to the length of 35.5 mm, it may not fit in older torch models!

Charging
The accumulator can be charged:
- Via USB-C connector: Connect a USB cable to the side USB-C connector, during charging the indicator light on the top of the accumulator lights red. When fully charged, it lights blue. A completely discharged accumulator charges in approximately 2 hours.
- In a torch or head torch: The accumulator can also be charged in charging torches and head torches. It can thus be used as a replacement accumulator for head torches HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0 and torches E18R, LD15R, GL06, GL22.
- In a conventional Li-ion accumulator charger.

Warning
- If possible, do not discharge the accumulator below 2.5 V.
- Do not short-circuit the accumulator (do not connect the cell poles with a conductor).
- Do not throw the accumulator into fire or water.
- Never insert the accumulator into a charger in reverse (with opposite polarity).
- When using the accumulator, observe safety guidelines.
- Use only an appropriate charger that supports Li-ion accumulators.
