Fenix TK15R with maximum output of up to 3200 lumens brings, as one of the few handheld torches in the world, a unique smart IRIS X sensor. This innovative technology automatically adjusts the torch's output based on ambient light and the distance of the illuminated object. What does this mean in practice? When using IRIS X mode, you will not be dazzled by unpleasant light reflection from a nearby wall, obstacle or when reading a map – the torch will rapidly and automatically reduce brightness. However, as soon as you point it into a dark open space, it immediately releases extreme output of up to 2000 lumens. Thanks to the top-class LED Luminus SFT70, it illuminates to an impressive distance of 490 metres. For perfect control in crisis situations, a tactical tail switch is provided, complemented by an intuitive side rotary switch. This allows smooth switching between the classic Duty mode, smart IRIS X mode and torch lock.

The torch head is equipped with a striking bezel, so it can be used to break glass or for self-defence. Robust construction ensures trouble-free use in the most demanding conditions. The torch is powered by a single high-capacity Li-ion 21700 5000 mAh rechargeable battery (included in the package). It charges directly in the torch via a modern USB-C connector with fast-charging support (up to 21 W output) and provides power for more than 68 hours of operation. The uncompromising and water-resistant design makes this smart tactical torch primarily suitable for harsh outdoor conditions, professionals, armed forces, rescue operations and hunters.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the TK15R torch

From the factory, there may be an insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

Switching on/off: When the torch is unlocked, to switch on/off fully press the tactical tail switch at the end of the torch. For instant activation, press the button briefly. By rotating the side switch to the middle position, you enter Lock mode and the torch switches off.

Mode switching: Use the side rotary switch to cycle through modes: IRIS X mode <-> Lock <-> Duty. In Duty mode, press the side functional button to cycle through power levels (30 – 350 – 1000 – 3200 lumens). In IRIS X mode, use the functional button to switch between automatic IRIS X mode and 150 lumens output. To activate Strobe, press and hold the side functional button for 0.5 seconds (torch must be on and unlocked).

IRIS X mode logic: The sensor module in the reflector automatically adjusts brightness based on ambient light. Below 5 lux (complete darkness) it operates at maximum. At approximately 70 lux (dim basement) it shines at 1500 lumens. At 100 lux (office) it shines at approximately 800 lumens. If an obstacle is close (approximately 10 cm), the output automatically drops to 30 lumens to prevent dazzling from reflection.

Intelligent overheat protection – because the torch achieves extreme output, it experiences a temperature rise. If the temperature exceeds 55°C, the output will automatically reduce. Once the temperature drops below 55°C, full output can be used again.

Battery charge indication – the torch always indicates battery charge status three seconds after switching on. Green indicates 100% – 85% charge, green flashing (85% – 50%), steady red (50% – 25%) and flashing red indicates critically low battery (less than 25%). If voltage drops below the set level, the torch will reduce brightness to a lower level.

Charging – flip open the rubber dust cover of the charging connector on the side of the torch and connect the supplied cable (USB-C connector), connect the other end of the cable to a computer or USB mains adapter or car adapter (supporting up to 21 W). During charging, the side indicator glows red. When fully charged, it glows green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 1.5 hours (using a 9 V / 3 A power source). After charging is complete, carefully reseal the cover.

Warning

• Use only quality rechargeable 21700 type batteries with protective electronics.
• Remove the battery or lock the torch to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
• When replacing the battery, unscrew the torch head and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the head. Then fully tighten the head again.
• If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is discharged – charge it or replace it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The torch head is loose, tighten it.
