The movable internal piston is made from durable copolyester and with a bottom stainless steel mesh replaces the classic rod-based mesh retention system of standard French presses. It also creates a second insulation wall. The foam cover (EVA foam), available in GSI's core colours, forms an additional insulation layer. The bottom of the Commuter Javapress is coated with non-slip silicone. The internal part is made from transparent copolyester, which contains no harmful substances such as bisphenol (BPA free).
