A robust splitting axe for heavy-duty tasks such as splitting logs. The head shape combined with a slightly convex edge allows the wood to split. The axe features a long straight hickory handle for maximum speed and control during use. The axe is hand-forged from Swedish steel in the Hults Bruk smithy. The forging tradition dates back to 1697 and the head itself is struck 40 to 60 times to achieve maximum resilience and strength. The name derives from Hulta, the region where the Hults Bruk smithy was founded. Like most old Swedish place names, it describes the surrounding landscape of the location. Proper handling of this axe will make it a faithful companion for many years. Thanks to the quality and craftsmanship of this axe, Hultafors provides a lifetime warranty on the head.
