Sheepsfoot blade – the Sheepsfoot blade is characterised by an unusual shape. It is a single-edged blade with a straight edge and a straight blunt tip that tapers to a point at the front. Comfortable handle – an ergonomic handle made from carbon fibre provides a firm grip on the knife, as well as low weight. Carbon fibre/G10 is known for its high strength, low moisture absorption and excellent durability. G10 material is very popular in weapon handle manufacture because of its grip and slip resistance. It is considered the strongest glass fibre laminate in the world. Well designed – the lock mechanism of the blade is resistant to contamination and prevents accidental closure of the knife. The knife closes extremely smoothly thanks to a ceramic ball bearing. AUS 10A is an improved version of Japanese steel AUS 8A. It is a high-performance stainless steel that boasts all the properties of AUS 8A steel, and thanks to increased vanadium content achieves higher wear resistance, better toughness and is also easier to sharpen. AUS-10A is an alternative to 440C steel with a carbon content of approximately 1.10%. Slightly harder than 440C, the hardness of AUS-10A is most often stated in the range 58 – 62 HRC. AUS steels are used in the manufacture of high-quality knives, scissors, medical equipment and in the manufacture of machine parts, for example in the food industry.
