Kupilka fire steel is a tool that creates large sparks at temperatures up to 3,000 °C, which allows easy fire lighting even in wet weather. The fire steel is supplied with a metal striker and a leather cord made from reindeer hide.

The fire steel handle is made from Kareline wood-plastic composite and allows its use even when wearing gloves. This tool was manufactured in Finland from a European ferrocerium fire steel rod and its metal striker is a by-product of the metalworking industry.

This fire steel was designed in collaboration with Karu Survival, a leader in wilderness survival training in Finland.
