Midland Alan-42 DS handheld transceiver. A compact portable radio station with CB function and quick adaptability for use in a vehicle. The Alan-42 is equipped with automatic noise blocking and an automatic battery-saving system. The radio features a large display for easy operation and display of currently active functions. The Alan-42 DS provides operation at temperatures from −10 to 55 °C. In addition to the automatic noise blocking system, the radio is equipped with manual adjustment options (SQ). The radio also has the ability to listen to two frequencies simultaneously (Dual Watch) and scan channels. The Alan-42 DS radio station is also equipped with NB/ABL noise filters, quick access to the EMG emergency channel and the ability to lock buttons. The radio station is powered by six AA batteries or eight rechargeable 1.2 V batteries.
