Five layers of full foam with dimensions of a small "airfield" will provide you and your companion with sleep in maximum comfort, not to mention thermal insulation. The surface is moreover made from brushed polyester, which prevents the sleeping bag from sliding on the mat and is very pleasant to the touch.

As we are advocates of equal partnership, we have equipped this mat with two nylon valves so you do not have to spend long deciding who is next to inflate it. On the other hand, the mat is not divided into multiple chambers, so gentlemen can significantly help their partners.

Lamination

To prevent air leakage through the top fabric of the mat, an impermeable membrane is laminated to the polyester fabric. Lamination of a continuous membrane instead of applying a coating eliminates the possibility of uneven coating in areas with material irregularities. This can lead to insufficient coating being applied and air leakage in such affected areas. The use of PU foam with heat-laminated membrane (TPU) is currently the highest quality combination of materials on the market.

Foam

The basis of every self-inflating mat is internal foam. Pinguin mats are filled with polyurethane foam, whose open pores trap air, which gives it excellent insulation properties. The foam has very good shape memory, which contributes to its rapid inflation and does not sag even after years of frequent use.

Valve

Nylon valves are purposefully used on Pinguin car mats. The reason for their use instead of brass valves is their one hundred per cent tightness thanks to partial elasticity of the material, low weight and increased resistance to frost. The nylon used on the valves is sufficiently strong and durable.

Full foam

Full foam without lightening is the most comfortable construction with the best insulation properties, but at the cost of high weight and lower packability. Caravans with this type of construction are year-round, but due to high weight they are not particularly suitable for hiking.
