Self-supporting construction increases stove stability, particularly thanks to its low centre of gravity and low height.

Robust construction and a base diameter of 5–16 cm allow the use of larger cookware.

Because the stove stands on its own legs and is connected to the reservoir by a hose, every bit of refill can be used. This principle also allows the use of various types of cartridge, though a regulator is always required.

Because the stove supports can be folded down to two levels, the spider packs away very easily. Once folded, the stove can be wrapped in the included plastic case, which protects it from damage during transport.
