A very spacious tunnel-type tent that, thanks to its low profile, is suitable even in poor weather conditions.

The Tropico tent is made from polyester with polyurethane coating, which guarantees a hydrostatic head of 4000 mm. The seams are taped with waterproof tape. The lining is made from nylon with polyurethane coating, which provides a hydrostatic head of 10,000 mm.

The poles consist of laminate segments with a diameter of 9.5 mm.

The double-skin tent consists of an inner tent and an outer flysheet. The entrance to the inner tent is at the front, and the outer tent has a large vestibule, suitable for storing luggage, cooking and so on, which can be accessed via the front or side entrance.

The tent design is based on the principle that the pole structure, threaded through sleeves, is outside the flysheet. The flysheet and inner tent (which is suspended beneath the flysheet) are then erected simultaneously after threading the sleeves onto the poles. The advantages of this method are: the tent is very quick to pitch, in rain the inner tent will not get wet, the inner tent can be separated from the flysheet and the flysheet can be pitched independently, creating a single-skin tent without a floor.

Ventilation is provided by three ventilation windows, which are positioned at the front entrance and at the rear of the flysheet. The roof of the ventilation window is shaped so that it does not lean in the wind. This prevents air escape even in strong wind and rain.

Tent construction

Thread the structural poles through the sleeves and insert steel spikes into the tubes at the end of the poles, which are then threaded onto loops on the bottom edge of the flysheet. Secure the inner tent to the loops on the inside of the tent. The tent is not free-standing and must be anchored with at least a minimum number of pegs or guy ropes. Finally, use plastic clips on the bottom edge of the tent.
