A spacious and lightweight pole-geodetic tent with excellent wind stability, suitable for mountaineering, trekking and for anyone who appreciates its robust three-pole construction with four crossing points, exceptionally spacious vestibule and low weight.

The Tropico tent is made from polyester with a polyurethane coating, which guarantees a hydrostatic head of 4,000 mm. The seams are taped with a waterproof tape. The lining is made from nylon with a polyurethane surface treatment, which guarantees a hydrostatic head of 10,000 mm.

The poles consist of aluminium alloy segments with a diameter of 9.5 mm (7001 T6).

Description

The tent is double-walled and consists of an inner tent and an outer shell – flysheet. The inner tent has a trapezoidal floor plan with one entrance. The tent has a spacious vestibule with two entrances. The vestibule can be used for storing luggage or as a shelter for cooking. The tent concept is based on the principle of a pole construction threaded through sleeves outside the flysheet. The flysheet and inner tent (which is suspended beneath the flysheet) are erected simultaneously after threading the poles through the sleeves. The advantage of this method is that the inner tent can be separated from the flysheet and the flysheet can then be pitched independently. In this way you get a single-walled tent without a floor.

Ventilation

Located at the top of the flysheet dome. The ventilation windows are shaped so that the wind does not bend them, and if necessary can be closed using hook-and-loop fasteners. This prevents air loss even in heavy rain and wind.

Tent construction

Thread the construction poles through the sleeves on the outside of the tent and insert the pole ends into the brass rings on the attachment loops on the bottom edge of the tent. Then fasten the straps and the ground fasteners inside the tent and pitch the tent. Secure the inner tent to the attachment loops on the inside of the tent. Anchor the tent with pegs and guy lines and secure with plastic fasteners.
