The vestibules are sufficiently high, and thanks to the rigidity of the construction, the tent is suitable for use in demanding conditions.

The Tropico tent is made from polyester with polyurethane coating, which guarantees a hydrostatic head of 4000 mm. The seams are taped with waterproof tape. The lining is made from nylon with polyurethane coating, which guarantees a hydrostatic head of 10,000 mm.

The poles consist of Dural (7001) segments with a diameter of 8.5 mm (main poles) and 9.5 mm (front supports).

The tent is double-walled and consists of an inner tent and an outer flysheet. The inner tent has a rectangular floor plan with two entrances on the longer sides. The outer tent is octagonal and also has two entrances with two vestibules, which are suitable for storing luggage or cooking in case of bad weather.

The tent concept is based on the principle of a pole construction threaded through tunnels outside the flysheet. After threading the poles through the tunnels, the flysheet and inner tent (which is suspended beneath the flysheet) are erected simultaneously. The advantage of this method is that the inner tent can be separated from the flysheet and the flysheet can then be pitched independently. In this way you get a single-walled tent without a floor.

Ventilation is located at the top of the flysheet dome. The ventilation windows are shaped so that the wind does not collapse them and can be closed with hook-and-loop fasteners if needed. This prevents air loss even in rain with strong wind.

Tent construction

Thread the construction poles through the tunnels on the outside of the tent and insert the pole ends into brass eyelets on the loops on the bottom edge of the tent. Then fasten the straps at ground level inside the tent and the tent is erected. Secure the inner tent to the loops on the inside of the tent. Anchor the tent with pegs and cords and secure with plastic buckles.
