Swedish company SmellWell was founded with a clear idea and vision – to create a product that is simple to use, effective and solves the eternal problem of most athletes: damp and smelly footwear and sports equipment. It offers a natural and effective solution for moisture absorption and odour elimination. Two years of testing and development, which began with a pair of football boots, culminated in 2014 with the launch of the product on the Swedish market and to this day it can be purchased almost everywhere in the world. SmellWell has undergone the most rigorous possible testing by many sports teams, Olympians and professionals and has passed tests with flying colours.

One of the main components of SmellWell is activated charcoal, which has been used for hundreds of years as a natural way to purify and filter water and air. We use activated charcoal made from bamboo, whose surface is made up of a larger area and is therefore better suited to absorbing moisture and neutralising odour. Bamboo is also suitable from an ecological and sustainable development perspective, because it grows very quickly, so its harvesting does not limit further growth in any way. In addition to bamboo charcoal, SmellWell also contains salts and minerals with strong hygroscopic properties, which allow the pouches to absorb moisture even better. You won't see any of this from the outside, though. Everything is enclosed in a microfibres pouch, which is coloured with environmentally friendly dyes. It works like a membrane by holding all the components but allowing moisture transfer from the shoe or sports equipment into the pouch.

Suitable for more than just footwear The flexibility of the SmellWell pouch allows its use on practically anything that is difficult to wash and tends to smell after a while of use. The most common use is footwear, sports equipment, gloves, rucksacks, but it works equally well in gym lockers or inside a car not only as an odour and moisture absorber, but also as a freshener for the surrounding space.

SmellWell pouches do not work solely on the basis of masking odour with a pleasant fragrance. They help prevent the multiplication of bacteria, which actually cause the odour. They do this by absorbing moisture from shoes or sports equipment, which creates an ideal environment for bacterial growth. Simply place the pouches in the footwear or sports equipment and leave them to work for a certain time, for example overnight. The lifespan of the pouches is up to 6 months from opening the bag.
