Black matte finish has been in Zippo MFG's range since its introduction to the market in 1984. It is the very first colour finish for Zippo lighters. The surface of the lighter is electrostatically coated with dark black, exceptionally durable powder lacquer with an epoxy resin additive. The hinge and characteristic relief on the underside are laser-cleaned during manufacture.
